A new kind of community art space in Bozeman, Montana

We provide space + tools for makers in our community to create and connect

The space

So many artists we know (ourselves included) find themselves moving art projects from place to place in their homes as they toggle between living and creating. For those of us with designated home studios, art making can feel a little isolating. Some of us just need some external accountability, some want feedback.

Ours is a space meant to address both the chaos and isolation that are part of being a maker of any kind. Whether you come to connect with people in the space, or just to work, you're welcome at Wheelhouse.

The tools

Whether its materials, expertise, or feedback you're looking for, our space is built to equip makers of all kinds with what they need to grow creatively.

We are looking to see what people want and need as we continue to build the space out; people who are involved help shape this space every day.

Open Studio

We like to tell people that we run our studio like a gym: we have a punch pass system where one punch grants you 4 consecutive hours of access to our space.

Punches come with a built-in volume discount. 5-punch passes are $12 a punch, 10-punch passes are $10 a punch. If commitment isn't your thing, we also have a one-time pass available for $15.

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and maybe even get a little dirty at one of our hands-on classes, or join us for some of our community-oriented events like Drink & Draw or Steep & Paint.

It's important to us that teaching is sustainable for our instructors, so all of our art classes do cost some money. We typically have at least one free community event per week too, and we're working on scholarship opportunities.
