Our Glass Studio

We are the first and only public facing stained glass studio in Bozeman, MT. We are set up to accommodate the all sorts of glass art forms, including the copper foil method (both lead and lead free), mosaics, fusing and glass painting.

We are proud to have seperate stations for cutting, grinding and soldering. We run an organized studio over here! We also have lots of fun tools to use, including the following speciality tools:

You can access the glass studio during regular open studio hours Mon-Sat 2:00-8:00PM. We have everything you need here to create your next glass project. Almost everything is included with studio admission, including our scrap glass if you don’t own any glass. The only thing you need to bring or purchase, is your own lead or lead free solder. No worries if you forget your solder or glass! We sell solder, sheet glass, glass kits/patterns and other supplies in our art supply store.

  • Copper Foil

    The copper foil method was made famous by Lewis Tiffany in the late 1800’s, but you don’t need a time machine to learn it! This class is the perfect introduction to stained glass. In just a few short hours you will learn how to cut, grind, foil and solder your very own stained glass Suncatcher.

  • Lead Free

    Learn the copper foil method but without the Lead!

    Lead free solder is safe to wear and touch regularly. Our lead free classes explore jewelry making and simple sun catchers. These classes also include decorative soldering techniques.

  • Kilnwork

    Turn up the heat on your next project! Learn the art of fusing and slumping glass. Our Kilnwork classes focus on color and expression. We use a combination of recycled glass, sheet glass and frit to create plates, jewelry and sun catchers.

  • Glass Painting

    We are proud to bring the art of glass painting to Montana! Glass painting is a centuries old craft utilizing deep pigments and kiln firing. This modernized nontoxic version was taught to us by Deborah Coombs. We are happy to share her method with you.

  • Mosaics

    We make a lot of scrap glass in the studio, and we love to recycle it by creating mosaics. We put a modern spin on this ancient art form, by playing with colors and textures on different surfaces.

  • Sarah Washko

    Sarah is our copper foil, mosaic and glass painting instructor. She specializes in traditional methods. Sarah loves watching her students create new and exciting color combinations. She believes that glass is the easiest way to play with light!

    Brinley is our resident Lead free glass instructor. She teaches a variety of stained glass jewelry and trinket classes. She likes to play with decorative soldering and funky shapes. She loves to see her students wearing their original designs.

Private group classes

Group classes with friends and family make learning stained glass like going to a party. Great for bridal showers, double dates or for hanging out with friends, this class teaches you eveything you need to begin stained glass but with inside jokes. Class includes 4 hours of instruction, all materials and a personalized glass pattern.
