Emily Marteau
Emily Marteau is a fiber artist and sewing instructor who is happiest when she is teaching others how to sew. She learned how to sew at the young age of 13, after her grandmother gifted her a sewing machine. Together they made Emily’s first home sewn blouse, which was part shirt, part dress and had many wonky stitches. In the years following, Emily went foot pedal to the metal, sewing a handmade wardrobe for herself and her friends. Emily’s biggest sewing achievement is her wedding dress, which featured a removable skirt and sleeves, transforming into a reception dress. With her business Thread Rose Crafts, Emily teaches both beginner and advanced sewing classes at Studio Wheelhouse, as well as releases sewing tutorials and patterns on her website, newsletter, and social media.
